From the Beginning

First let me start by saying I am new to the Blogging world, but have been inspired by other moms and their very entertaining stories. Keep in mind I am not a writer, so this will by no means be anything close to professional. I am hoping to be able to share some good along with bad experiences, and hopefully everyone can take something from my story.. even if its just a laugh!

As most of you know I got married September 2 2007, to the most amazing man! Yes, we may argue, and yes it may be a lot, but he is my best friend and I couldn't think of anyone I would rather spend my life with! We have now been married for two wonderful years and four months ago on July 7 2009 I gave birth to the most precious gift that I could ever imagine, my little girl Brooklyn.

We had been trying to have a baby for a couple of months, although I will admit we weren't trying that hard, due to my nervousness about actually going through child birth. Ever since I had been a little girl, I would always tell people that my plans were to adopt a baby instead of going through all of the pain associated with having my own. After multiple false pregnancy tests that I would do at work with all the girls waiting outside the bathroom door, I became very discouraged. I will never forget the feeling of seeing only one pink line, while hoping the next one would still appear. Then the feelings of sadness and disappointment, and then having to come out of the bathroom and face all of the girls waiting to hear the good news only to have to then announce the word "negative"

My Pregnancy
I found out I was pregnant on October 22 2008. It was the only time I actually waited to do the test at home with my husband. I went to the washroom to do my 'duty' and told my husband that he would have to go check because I just couldn't handle the anticipation and then likely disappointment that was about to come. When he walked out of the washroom he had a puzzled look on his face and said "I THINK your pregnant" with his voice sounding not sure. I have never screamed so loud as that moment, and of course you know me, I was on the phone calling my friends and family as soon as I could (so much for waiting until 12 weeks, who can do that anyway!)

The first 12 weeks really dragged on because I knew that I was in the most crucial stage of pregnancy. Also the morning sickness.. ooh the morning sickness! Finally my 12 week appointment came and we knew we were going to able to hear our babies heartbeat. I was hoping that would make the pregnancy feel more real, because up until that point I had been thinking maybe I am just getting fat! So the doctor was trying to find the heartbeat with no luck, that was pretty nerve wrecking. She then brought in the mini ultrasound machine, and we then got to see the little miracle that was growing inside of me (who strangely resembled a peanut if I might add)

The rest of my pregnancy started to go a bit faster, still had the morning sickness pretty much right until the end, but had that under control with some meds from the doctor. I actually really enjoyed being pregnant! I loved my belly.. maybe a little too much, considering at the beginning I think I ate everything in sight to try to get my tummy to grow! (know wonder I have stretch marks) I also enjoyed have numerous pregnant friends, which I could call and complain about all my aches and pains to, and they would know exactly how I felt. I felt my little angel kick for the first time when I was 16 weeks, the most amazing feeling EVER! I actually just laid around telling my husband I couldn't get up because I was enjoying the little peanut bouncing around in there.
